Wordsearch

I went to a ladies meeting on February 14th where we were given a Word Search to do. I must admit that I am not very good at this sort of thing. Quizzes, crosswords and the like are not my forte. With it being February 14th the theme for the word search was Valentine's Day, and so I set to, to find the words that were typed at the bottom of the page. I found some, I also found quite a few that had nothing to do with the theme, I also found that if I added a letter here and there I could get even more words, although they were still nothing to do with the theme. So, there I was doing my own thing and not paying attention to the point of it all, so all my efforts were pointless and an utter waste of time, I had no hope of winning a prize that’s for sure.

What do you do with God’s word? Do you change it, take out words and sentences out of context so that you don’t have the real meaning? Do you put things in so that it fits your ideas better, so that it doesn’t challenge you and make you look within yourself as to what you really are, a sinner in need of forgiveness? If you do, I can assure you it is all pointless, it is a useless exercise because it won’t make you a better person, it will not give you salvation, and it will not give you eternal life.

There are so many so-called churches in these days that encourage their followers not to take the Word of God literally, who have taken out the cross because they say we don’t need it in these modern days, why? Because they don’t acknowledge what God says about us, that we are all sinners and that one day we will have to stand in judgement before Him. And no, He isn’t going to wave you through to heaven and say it doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do. Nowhere in the Bible does it tell you that God wants you healthy, and wealthy. Nowhere in the Bible does it tell the pastors of His church to just give motivational speeches to make people feel better. Do you know what God’s Word is?  Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Do you know what the Word of God is for? 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: God’s Word is to profit you in doctrine, in discipline, correcting you, and teaching you righteousness. It does not say, scripture is for you to mess around with so that you can do as you please, and be always healthy and wealthy.

There is only one way to the Father, and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ. There is only one way for you to be forgiven and that is through repentance and believing in Jesus who took the punishment for your sins and mine. When people take out you being a sinner, when they take out the virgin birth, when they take out the cross, when they take out the resurrection, you have nothing. When they add health, wealth, God wants you always happy, God loves everybody, so everybody is going to heaven. When they tell you you are not a sinner, and that no one is really bad, they are lying, all these things contradict God's word, they have poisoned the gospel. You wouldn't drink a pure glass of water that someone put a drop of poison in, so please be discerning and don't fall for the poison lies that people add to the good news of salvation. Be like the Bereans in the Bible, test the words you hear people say with scripture, which is God's word.

Deuteronomy 4:2
"You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
Proverbs 30:5-6
Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.
Revelation 22:18-19
I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

Warning, Warning

I recently went on holiday with the coach company KM Travel of Chesterfield to Bognor Regis, staying at the Royal Norfolk hotel, on our second day we had a trip to Worthing, I thoroughly enjoyed myself walking around the town, the pier and the beach. One part of the beach has large rocks placed as a sea defence with warnings all along them, saying, "Warning, danger, keep off”.
You can imagine my surprise when I saw a man scrambling over them with his young son, stopping to get their step right next to one of the many warning signs. Not only was this man putting himself in danger but his son too.  As I continued to walk a lady and her mother also clambered onto these rocks to take a selfie, they too stood next to the warning signs. I wonder who they would have blamed if they had had an accident.

I thought about this and wondered what kind of excuses people will try to give when they find themselves at the judgement seat of God, having ignored all warnings they received in their lifetime. But it will be too late, judgement will be done and they will be condemned. But oh, how different it will be for those who heed the warnings and steer clear of evil walking in the light of God. God reveals Himself in nature, there will be no excuse for any man. Those who seek God He will reveal Himself to, He has also revealed Himself and His will for our lives in His Word, the Holy Bible, He has revealed how we can be saved from this awful judgement that is to come. The only way is through Jesus Christ, God's Son, who came to earth to seek and save the lost. He died at Calvary by crucifixion taking the punishment for our sins, He rose on the third day, giving to everyone who repents of their sin and believes in Him everlasting life. We shall all one day stand before God, some to eternal life, some to judgement.

How do you stand,
have you taken heed of the warnings?
