Forgiven Sins

There is no one who forgives like God. God says He "will blot out as a thick cloud" our transgressions, and that He will set our sins "as far as the east is from the west," if we are willing to confess them to our Heavenly Father and claim the forgiveness offered through the sacrifice of the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us take God at His word, and believe. Having claimed His forgiveness do not let us rake up the past in order to spoil the future.

I had been to my daughters house and needed something from town, it wasn't a particularly good day weather wise, in fact it was quite dull, but as I walked down the path through the Coppice Park in Belper I had a lightness in my step and couldn't quite understand why. Then I realised I didn't have my back pack on, I usually have it with me all the time, but it was lovely I had no burden on my back and so my steps were light. Thinking about this, this is what happens to us when we cry out to God for forgiveness for our sins through His Son, Jesus Christ. We go to Him laden with guilt, shame, fear, weary of our daily walk on the earth our sin bearing down in our soul until we can't take anymore. "I don't want to go on like this" we cry, and God in His grace, love and mercy, forgives and receives us into His family. And the burden is gone, no more guilt, no more shame, we stand before God a new creature, the old is gone. No matter what the sin, no matter how long we've been sinning, God's forgiveness is bigger, Jesus took our punishment at the cross, so that we don't have to face the judgement and wrath of God.

Now there is a lightness in our spirit, now there is newness of life, now there is no condemnation, now we are free in Him.

If you do not know this freedom, I invite you to take all your sin to God, confess your sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and the burdens will be lifted and you will walk in newness of life.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Acts 3:19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
