Omnipresent God

As I got into my sisters car the police helicopter was overhead, Pamela said it always made her feel nervous when she saw it to which I replied, "Oh it makes me feel quite safe, it's always good to know they are doing their job, of course if it came over my house and it's light shone right into my garden I would feel nervous then!" We continued on our journey and Pamela took me home and I thought no more about it until later in the evening when I was on the phone to my daughter Emma and the police helicopter came right over my house shining it's light thankfully it was only a matter of seconds before it moved to the next street where it hovered and stayed for quite awhile.

After awhile it went on it's way and I'm presuming it succeeded in catching whoever it was after. The police helicopter and it's occupants do an amazing job they can see things that can't be seen from the ground and keep the police on the ground informed, and I for one am very grateful for the work they do.

It led my thoughts to the Lord God, who is all seeing, all knowing and omnipresent. As a Christian I am relieved to know that Almighty God is in control, and that all authority is His even over my own life. I am not perfect even though I am a new creation in Christ consequently there are times when I falter, fail and fall. When I have done something wrong/sin God sees and His Holy Spirit convicts me of the sin/wrong in order that I can seek forgiveness.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

However if I didn't believe in God and didn't acknowledge Him, refuse to believe His existence that does not mean that He does not exist, God's existence does not depend on man's belief. He is, was and always will be, He is God almighty who made everything good.

I know He exists because I see Him working in my life. Nine times out of ten people don't want to know God because they want to do their own thing, go their own way, do the things that they have always done if they acknowledged God then they would have to admit they were under His authority and that they were sinners.

Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The criminal on the run really wishes that the police didn't exist, the sinner who wants to carry on sinning really wishes God didn't exist.

Unlike the helicopter that can only be in one place at one time, God sees it all, He sees and knows our thoughts and our deeds, if you don't know the Lord Jesus whom God sent to save sinners all you have to do is confess you are a sinner and ask Jesus to come into your life and He will as He did mine.

From that time on He has helped me in all my troubles, trials and tribulations because not only does He see our sin He sees everything, our sorrow, our joy, our pain and He has promised to be there always for us.

God without man is still God,

man without God is nothing
